Dr. Kathleen Cravero named Chair of the International Council for the Global Society on Migration, Ethnicity, Race and Health
Dr. Kathleen Cravero, Director of CIRGH, has been selected to become a member of the International Council of the Global Society on Migration, Ethnicity, Race and Health.
The Society was formally launched in October 2020. Its focus is on protecting and improving the health of migrants and minimising health differences between ethnic/racial groups in any and all parts of the world, by promoting research, enhancing understanding, disseminating information and advocating for beneficial change. In order to develop the Society and make it as accessible and relevant to as many people as possible, the Society is building an International Council with expert members from all parts of the world. It will advise the Board on its strategy and programme, share information and ideas, promotes the Society’s activities and expand its networks and communication channels.
Dr. Kathleen Cravero was selected for her engagement in the field of Migration and Health, experience in starting and building up the Center for Immigrant, Refugee and Global Health at CUNY, initiating the big cities network as well as her expertise and long standing experience working with the United Nations.
