Description
Immigrants seek support from migrant-serving organizations for legal, health, employment, and social service needs. Employees working in these organizations, particularly health and legal providers, may be exposed to stressors or triggers that can lead to burnout and stress. Without prevention or intervention programs targeted at service providers, negative coping strategies (including substance use, behavioral disengagement, and self-blame) may lead to deleterious outcomes.
This workshop led by Dr. Tabitha Mpamira will train migrant service providers in sustainable and healthy emotional regulation to reduce rates of burnout and STS. Participants will learn about practical skills to cultivate healing, resilience, and care for themselves and for their communities. We will also explore and lean into self and community resources to build sustainable systems of care.
