Ansley Hobbs

Bio

Ansley Hobbs is a public health researcher and survey methodologist with experience in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodology research in both international and domestic settings.

She is currently a PhD student studying Community Health and Health Policy. Additionally, she works as the Project Officer for the Migrant Health Research Hub at CUNY’s Center for Immigrant, Refugee, and Global Health. In this role, she oversees the development and implementation of priority tools and resources designed for migrant-serving organizations in New York City and State. She also serves as a research assistant to Dr. Diana Romero on several projects related to child welfare and reproductive health services.

She previously coordinated knowledge management and strategic communications for the USAID-funded Health Evaluation and Applied Research Development (HEARD) Project, a global partnership designed to generate and synthesize evidence to improve policy implementation. Prior to this, she worked in Pukë, Albania as a community health educator with the Albanian Directory of Public Health. She focused her health lessons on overcoming topics considered to be taboo, including preventative maternal and reproductive health screenings, educating students and parents on the warning signs of human trafficking, and the improvement of school-based hygiene facilities to address non-attendance during menstruation. She has diverse research interests, including immigration policies and their impact on migrant health; violence prevention; maternal, child, and reproductive health; and equitable service and health care access for vulnerable populations. She holds an MPH from the City University of New York and was selected as the 2020 Class Valedictorian. She received her BS in Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida, with a minor in Organizational Leadership for Nonprofits.
