Dima Masoud

Bio
Dima is a Palestinian-American researcher in refugee and migrant health studies. In her previous role as a researcher at the Institute for Community and Public Health at Birzeit University, she worked on a mixed methods research study conducted in 19 UNRWA refugee camps in the West Bank and Jordan on the reproductive health needs of adolescent girls. Dima has experience in supporting the needs of underserved individuals in different settings, including programs in the Philippines, Occupied Palestinian Territory, and the U.S.
She is a research assistant on collaborative project between CIRGH and CUNY SPH and the Institute for Migration Studies at the Lebanese American University in Lebanon titled: “The Impact of Gender Identity on Access to Healthcare Services for Refugees in Lebanon’s Northern Regions”. Additionally, she is a research assistant on the Vaccine hesitancy project at the CUNY SPH. Finally, Dima works on “COVID-19, Community Organizations, and Immigrants’ Access to Public Health Services in New York City” that studies the impact of COVID-19 on immigrants and immigrant-serving organizations in NYC. Finally, Dima works as a development associate for the MS in Global and Migrant Health Policy Program where she helps in building a “community of practice” for students within the MS program, including sharing of information, stimulation of online discussions, and managing communications among students and between students.
